Using it

Getting the most
out of fifteen minutes.

How long before I notice anything?

Most people feel looser by the end of the first session — that's the warmth and the supported position working immediately. Whether it carries into the next day depends on what's causing the tension and on using it regularly rather than once. We'd rather say that than promise a number of days we can't stand behind.

How often should I use it?

Fifteen minutes once a day is the rhythm most people settle into. Twice on a bad day is fine. Longer isn't better — the auto shut-off exists for a reason, and pushing past it doesn't add anything.

Which settings should I start on?

Medium heat, gentle vibration, for your first three or four sessions. It's warm enough to feel like something is happening without being a shock, and it lets you learn what your neck actually likes before you turn anything up.

What's the difference between the nine combinations?

Heat and vibration each have three levels, so you can pair them however you want. Low heat with deep vibration suits a warm evening when you still want the muscles worked. High heat with gentle vibration suits a cold morning and a stiff neck. High and high is intense — worth working up to rather than starting there.

Can I use it in bed?

Yes, and plenty of people do. Two cautions: don't fall asleep with heat on the highest setting, and don't use it under a duvet, which traps heat against the unit. Lying on top of the covers is the way to do it.

Should it hurt?

No. Pleasant pressure and warmth, yes. Actual pain, no. If a setting hurts, come down a level — with tension, gentler and more often beats harder and once.

Can I use it on my lower back?

The contour is shaped for the cervical curve, so it fits the neck properly and the lower back only approximately. Some people rest it under the lumbar curve and like it. It's not what the shape was designed around, so treat that as a bonus rather than the point.

Safety

The part
worth reading twice.

Check with your doctor first if any of these apply

Pregnancy · a pacemaker or other implanted device · recent neck surgery or injury · osteoporosis · thrombosis or clotting disorders · reduced skin sensation · diabetes-related neuropathy · an active skin condition on the neck.

Stop using it and speak to a professional if it causes pain, dizziness, numbness or tingling. Don't use it on broken skin, and unplug it when you're not using it.

Can I use it with a herniated disc or arthritis?

Ask your doctor or physiotherapist and follow what they say. Many people with diagnosed neck conditions use heat and gentle vibration as part of a routine, but nobody can tell you whether it suits your neck without examining it — and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

Is this a medical device?

No. The Atruvate Cervical Pillow is a wellness device. It isn't intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing we publish is medical advice.

Does it replace physical therapy or a chiropractor?

No, and we wouldn't sell it that way. It's for the maintenance in between — the part most people skip because booking an appointment is a hassle. If something in your neck needs diagnosing, it needs a clinician.

Can my teenager use it?

Not without an adult present, and not at the higher heat settings. It isn't designed for young children at all.

How hot does it actually get?

Comfortably warm, in the range of a good heat pad — never hot enough to burn through normal use. If a setting feels uncomfortable rather than warm, come down a level and give it a minute.

The device

Power, cleaning
and the boring details.

Does it need to be plugged in?

Yes, it runs from the mains with the included adapter. That's deliberate — consistent heat for a full fifteen minutes is something a battery fades on halfway through.

Is the vibration loud?

No. A low hum rather than a rattle. Quiet enough to use next to someone watching television, and quiet enough to fall asleep to.

How do I clean it?

The cover comes off and goes in the machine on a cold cycle, then air dries. The unit itself wipes with a damp cloth — unplug it first, and never submerge it.

What's in the box?

The Atruvate Cervical Pillow, its remote control, the power adapter, and a quick-start guide.

How long does it last?

There's a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Unplugging it between sessions and washing the cover rather than the unit are the two habits that extend its life the most.

Can I take it travelling?

It packs into a carry-on, though it isn't featherweight. Check the plug and voltage for wherever you're going before you rely on it.

When will my tracking number work?

Usually 24 hours after the shipping email. Until the carrier's first scan the number exists but shows nothing — that's normal and not a sign anything is wrong.

My tracking hasn't moved.

A quiet day or two between scans is routine, especially over a weekend. If there's been no movement at all for more than five days, email us and we'll chase the carrier or send a replacement rather than leave you waiting.

It says delivered but nothing arrived.

Check with anyone else at the address, and look around porches, side doors and mailrooms. Parcels are occasionally scanned before the final drop, so give it 24 hours. Still missing after that, tell us and we'll open a claim.

Can I change my delivery address?

If it hasn't shipped, yes — email us straight away with your order number. Once a label is printed the parcel can't be redirected; we'd have to wait for it to come back before resending.

Returns

30 days,
no argument.

What if it doesn't work for me?

Email us within 30 days of delivery and we'll arrange the return and refund you. Do give it more than one evening first — a device like this earns its keep over a couple of weeks, not one session.

Can I return it if I've used it?

Yes. We'd think it strange to ask you to judge it without using it. Keep the box and the accessories where you can, and put the cover through the wash before sending it back.

How long does the refund take?

We process it as soon as the return is confirmed. Your bank then takes a few business days to show it — that part is outside our control, but you'll have our confirmation email in the meantime.

Something arrived damaged.

Photograph the packaging and the unit and email us within 48 hours. Damage in transit is ours to fix, not yours to argue about — we replace it and cover the return.

Can I cancel before it ships?

Yes. Email us with your order number and we'll cancel and refund in full, no questions.

Still
wondering?

Email us. It reaches a person, not a queue, and the answer comes back within one business day.
